Effective January 1, 2021, the North Fort Bend Water Authority (NFBWA) is increasing its groundwater pumpage fee to $4.25 per 1,000 gallons. This Subsidence District mandated fee, reflected as a separate line item on your water bill, is paid directly to the NFBWA and is used to design, build and operate existing and new infrastructure in an attempt to reduce the area dependency on groundwater and convert to a percentage of surface water use by 2035.
Please note: this is a fee that is levied by the NFBWA and not by the Willow Point MUD Board. There is a 10% administrative cost adjustment included on residentā€™s bills to account for water loss and facilities maintenance, for a total RWA rate to Willow Point residents of $4.68 per 1,000 gallons.
Willow Point MUD successfully participated in the NFBWA Larryā€™s Toolbox water conservation program and can receive rebates from the NFBWA for its participation in 2021. The District expects to use the rebates to offset operation and maintenance expenses or to construct new projects in the District.
